Visa has appointed Ramakrishnan Gopalan as Vice President, Head of Products & Solutions for India and South Asia.
In this role, he will lead the product team in developing the strategy and the long-term design for the growth of Visa’s product propositions in the region, including India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and Maldives.
Prior to joining Visa, Ramakrishnan (Ramki) was with Citi in India and Singapore for nearly 20 years, where he held various positions across Asia Pacific in cards, lending, client engagement, risk mitigation, product development and digital channel teams. “We are excited to welcome Ramki to the Visa family. His rich experience in banking and cards will help Visa expand its product suite as we move towards further strengthening the digital payments ecosystem in India and South Asia.” Visa’s Group Country Manager, India & South Asia, Sandeep Ghosh said.
“I am extremely excited to join Visa at a time when the company is bringing more consumers, merchants and organizations into the digital payments ecosystem, making strides with its deep expertise in payments. The pandemic has accelerated digital adoption and building on that, Visa has been committed to offer trusted payment solutions in this digital-first environment.” said Ramakrishnan Gopalan, Visa’s newly appointed Vice President, Head of Products & Solutions for India and South Asia.
Ramki holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management and a Bachelor’s in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology. He will be based in Mumbai and sit on the INSA leadership team as well as the Asia Pacific Product Leadership team.
